While I watch the coverage of what is happening in Iran I just get a great feeling of thanks to my own nation for allowing freedom. Here in the USA we may not be perfect even on dailykos we have our own issues as a community, but I am thankful to live in a country that is free.
Barack Obama isn't going to be the perfect President on all issues, but you have to admit he is a lot better then having a Supreme Religious leader telling us what to do. Could you imagine if a Religious leader ran our country how many freedoms would be gone? Our Government isn't perfect and at times it seems like the voice of the people is never heard, but at least we can RALLY TOGETHER AT PLACES LIKE DAILYKOS.
This is not my only community I go to on the net, but Dailykos has been a important part of my Political life. I want to say thank you to everyone here who is a brother and sister even if we do not always agree with one another.
While we post videos, diaries, and comments lets remember we are a community free to voice our views. These freedoms our important because we see on tv how CNN is sensitive about showing Iran tweeter id's. Can you imagine a tweeter account being that dangerous that it could get you killed?
My thoughts be with those on the other side fighting for their freedom and thoughts to those at home who live in communities that still have issues that have not gone away. I just think we should be thankful for what we have. While we are being thankful do not forget we have to keep the fighting, but at least our fighting is not in the street worrying about being shot. Our Fighting is ideas to help grow our own nation. I'm just so glad that I'm a progressive at this moment and can see the good that we still have to do even in our own nation.
